AFSMI Membership

Membership in AFSMI is your link to best practices, thought-leadership, trends and information about the services industry. AFSMI offers two different types of membership; Corporate and Individual.

  • Corporate Membership addresses the needs of the service organization. With industry benchmark services, AFSMI Publications, the member-only areas of the AFSMI website and access to advanced programs like the AFSMI Total Quality Rating program, the corporate membership offers a convenient way for larger corporations to process those payments.
  • Individual Membership is designed to meet the needs of the service professional. Whether you are just starting your career and are in search of training and education programs, or you are an experienced veteran looking for opportunities to advance your career and share best practices, Individual Membership in AFSMI is great to develop in your chosen profession.

Both types of membership provide a robust menu of services and programs that cater to member needs:

  • Original research: Topics are driven by member input; and cover subjects like skills development, career planning and people management at the individual practitioner level, and subjects like service performance management, service sourcing strategies and leadership development at the organizational level.
  • Publications: Publications include the monthly Newsline e-newsletter (news and highlights from research and articles), the quarterly S-Business Journal, with analysis and in-depth feature articles on member-driven topics, original research reports and white papers, and member task force findings.
  • The AFSMI Website: This information repository for members contains industry news, the AFSMI Digital Library, AFSMI original research reports, white papers, pre-recorded webcasts, conference presentations and round table synopses, chapter news, as well as active on-line community features.
  • Conferences and Events: The S-Business World Conference, held every fall in the U.S., and the S-Business Leadership Conference, held every spring in Europe, are world-class events that offer insights, best practices, and rich networking opportunities. Conference agendas include keynotes from service industry heavy-weights; research findings and implications from AFSMI analysts; best practices roundtables with leading service practitioners; and expos that highlight the latest products and services a member organization may very well need for its next engagement.
  • Local chapters: A distinct advantage of AFSMI membership is the ability to participate in local chapters. AFSMI has over 40 chapters around the world and is actively building new chapters in developing services markets around the world. Chapters provide an excellent forum to discuss AFSMI research and issues, and to network locally.

  • Advanced Programs: For members who want to go beyond the core membership features to assess their capabilities, develop new skills and competencies, or be able to substantiate high quality service delivery, AFSMI has a broad catalog of assessment, development and recognition programs, for both individuals and organizations.
